ICET 2025 Main Conference

The 5th International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET 2025), co-hosted by the National Engineering Research Center for Education Big Data, the National Engineering Research Center for E-Learning, and Wuhan Intelligent Education Industry Technology Research Institute, was held in Chongqing, China, on September 26-28, 2025. The conference attracted over 260 distinguished experts and scholars from more than 19 countries and regions.

The conference was proudly co-sponsored by Southwest University and IEEE, and co-hosted by the College of Teacher Education, Institute for Big Science Education Research, the Center for Chinese and Greek Civilizations, and the Intelligent Computing and Decision-Making for Civilizations Laboratory. Furthermore, we are honored to have E-education Research, China Educational Technology, Journal of Distance Education, Open Education Research, Modern Distance Education Research, Modern Educational Technology, Modern Distance Education, Huazhong University of Science and Technology Press, Openclass Magazine Online, Digital Education, Journal of Teacher Education, Journal Press of Southwest University, Future in Educational Research and Bon View Publishing as our media partners. This collaboration and support have laid a solid foundation for the success of the conference.

 

During the conference, we will explore a range of critical themes, including topics such as AI-Driven Educational Innovation and System Construction, AI-Enhanced Language Learning and Assessment, Personalized and Adaptive Learning Technologies, AI Agents as Cognitive Partners and Learning Assistants, Generative AI in Education: Applications and Impact, and so on. Leading scholars from across the world will be sharing their latest research and practical insights, creating a dynamic and stimulating academic environment. The conference also features a rich variety of events, such as keynote speeches, invited speeches, Face-to-Face with Editors, Workshop, paper presentations, Campus tour, and city tours. We warmly encourage you to take an active part in these sessions, exchange ideas with fellow participants, and join us in shaping the future of educational technology through thoughtful dialogue and collaboration.

 

The conference kicked off on September 26. At the opening ceremony, Professor Luo Shengquan, Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Southwest University, delivered an opening speech, pointing out that data intelligence technology is a vital engine for advancing educational equity and quality. Subsequently, Professor Li Fa, Deputy Director of the Center for China-Greece Civilization Mutual Learning at Southwest University, delivered a welcome address, emphasizing the conference's role as an academic exchange platform and international cooperation opportunity. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Hu Hang, Chairman of the conference and Director of the Institute of Big Science Education of Southwest University.

The conference featured a special Editor-in-Chief Face-to-Face Exchange Session, inviting chief editors of 6 well-known domestic educational technology journals to dialogue with scholars on topics such as "review standards for AI-related papers" and "interdisciplinary research topic selection methods".

The invited report session was hosted by Professor Hywel Evans from Otsuma Women's University, Japan. Invited speakers included Professor Liu Zhi from Central China Normal University, Professor Xiong Yu from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Professor Wu Wentao from Anhui Normal University, and Associate Professor Li Yan from Hebei Normal University, along with 5 online invited speakers.

Workshop Host Workshop

The workshops adopted the form of thematic lectures combined with on-site experimental demonstrations. Focusing on the integration of theory, experiments, and systematic practice in educational research, the workshops showcased the latest applications of multimodal anthropometric technology in the study of learning behaviors, cognitive and emotional processes.
